Heart String Art DIY

 Materials:
  • corkboard, canvas, anything that can have pins stick through them
  • brads/nails
  • string/embroidery thread
  • paper
  • hammer?
I used a paper to form my heart shape. I thinly glued it the cork board so that it would say still but thin enough that I could peel it off when I was done creating the shape.
I used brads to make the heart shape, I wasn't paying attention so some of the brads are different sizes as you can see in the next picture. Overall, I don't think it really matter and you can't tell once it's done.
I stuck the brads around the heart at random spots, I wasn't trying to be precise I just eyeballed it.

Once the brads are all around, I peeled the heart out and started wrapping my string around in a random fashion. I wanted by embroidery thread to be wrapped around each brad at least once.
But I ran out of embroidery thread. so what I did was combine embroidery thread with thin sewing thread and then I outlined the heart with elastic sewing thread. So I ended up using three different thread to create the heart and I like it this way!

Recent DIYs

let's all just ignore my face in these pictures. And the shitty mirror pictures.
I've been using my sewing machine a lot lately, especially to make things smaller.
I love oversized clothing, but sometimes things are tooo oversized, like this cardigan.
I liked the length, so I just took it in on the sleeves and at the sides. It can be taken in a little more under the arms, but it works for now!

The second DIY I'm not sure I like. I love this sweater, but I hardly ever wore it, but I love the side pocket.
I wanted a wider neckline, but I think I ended up making it a little too wide. It looks sort of lumpy :( eh.
